I just purchased my second Ultra X... I spilled a drink in the first one and stopped using it. Anyway, I finally got around to buying another one and to my surprise it was USB. I didn't think this keyboard came with a USB option and thought if anybody was holding out on buying it due to this fact they would want to know that apparently they do come in USB.

As for a review. If you want the feel of typing on a laptop with your desktop this is the keyboard to get. I love it :) and as an added bonus it's really cheap.

I was thinking about getting that keyboard, but I was looking for something that felt like their dinovo line. I felt some similar OEM laptop-style keyboards at Best Buy and they felt like mushy crap compared to the dinovo.

So basically, is the Ultra-X a wired version of the dinovo line? I already ended up buying a dinovo off of ebay, but if I ever need an extra one in the future, it'd be nice to get one for cheaper, even if it is wired.

I'll have to go type on a dinovo to compare, but this keyboard isn't mushy at all. There is a little resistance at the beginning of the keystroke and then the resistance stops and the key goes in the rest of the way so you actually know that you've pressed a key. I know what you mean about the crap feel of some "laptop style" keyboards with the same key resistance through the stroke and this board def. is not that way.

Buy.com is a big company - heck they even do TV ads. But they don't have too good of a rep - its reseller rating is 4 for the last 6 mo. and only 5 lifetime. I got 10 hits on Froogle and there are a few decent companies on the list. But buy has a good price and at least one person (OP) got what they ordered.

I see that Zipzoomfly lists it as OOS - you could give them a call to see if they have an ETA. Sometimes a call is what it takes to get them on the ball.

If I would have known that buy.com sucked I wouldn't have bought it from them... I guess the marketing fooled me? My brief experience with them was fantastic. I must have just gotten lucky. Again though... I highly recommend this keyboard.

Why does the USB version have a Euro-style enter key? I like the ps/2 version better i think just for that reason.

I was JUST about to point that out when I read your post. I think the smaller backspace key would probably throw me off. I would rather get the PS/2 version for the same price on ZZF with a free mouse.

Would you say that the feel is pretty much exactly like a laptop or somewhere in between a laptop's feel and that of a normal desktop keyboard?

Thats probably what i'll do but i will need a ps/2 to usb adapter since neither of my lappys have ps/2 ports. Can anyone recommend a reliable one that i won't have to login to the OS to use, etc.?

Apparently that's the European version. The enter key takes up the forward slash and the backspace is split into the backspace and forward slash keys. It would probably take some getting used to. Otherwise, the USB version would be worth it (around 20 buck on amazon).
