How do you guys set up a 5.1 system with a computer? I don't see where you would put the rear speakers if you are using it with a desk?

I agree, don't see how you can put speaker stands behind your desk. Thats why I've held off on getting 5.1 for so long. Plus, all the reviews say the cables are extremely short for this setup which limits your options

Speaker wire that came with my 5500s were 25ft for the 3 main channels, 35ft for the surrounds. If thats not enough, since the 5500s (dunno about 5300 set) use regular speaker wire, you can just go to radio shack and buy a longer length.

Well I took the plunge any way. I was going to get the 2.1 speakers that were comporable, but these come out to be a little less after the rebate. So no point in not getting these. I guess I can just put the surrounds higher on my desk since I will probably not use them behind me, they would just get in the way unless I hung them from the ceiling

No. They are analog.

I just got these a few days ago off craigslist (for 40 bucks!). I absolutely love them, they are a TREMENDOUS upgrade over Z-640's. As for speaker wire, the rear wires are about 10-15 feet. Definately reccomended.

Aren't those only 200w and these are 280w? Don't know much about speakers...

Wattage doesn't really mean a whole lot. Either set will get plenty loud.

If you're mainly a music listener though, the Klipsch might be the better idea. If you want 5.1, this deal is very good.

Do they take standard speaker wire so I could extend them if needed to snake around the walls nicely?
Thx.

OOS now...

What are the chances they'll be back in stock before Aug 31, when the rebate runs out?
