Link to the AT review

It's a 4.1 setup with small satellites (1 cone per speaker).

I've now had two speakers develop the same problem. Essentially it sounds like a static crackle, and the sound produced is weak. Effectively, the bass has stopped working completely on one channel, and this is the second time this has happened. I'm down to my last two working speakers!

Could there be a problem electrically where I am living?

Could this be dust or short-circuit related?

Could it be moisture-related?

I'm wondering if:

1. A UPS would help.

2. A small carpet beneath the computer would help.

3. Should I use the remaining speakers on the "rear" ports on the amp/subwoofer?

Any help would be appreciated. :)

I've always used them at moderate volume levels with the 'bass' dial on the subwoofer turned all the way down (or close to all the way down).

Hmm, could be age is getting to them. Speakers will degrade over time, and to be honest Logitech probably didn't use real high quality materials when making them.
