Hi, I have the Logitech z540 speakers, and I had a problem with Windows XP in which I had to repair it by booting it off of the CD-rom. I got most of my programs working again, but for some reason my speakers do not work the way they're supposed to. Only the front two speakers will work, and I have tried changing in Control Panel the speaker settings to almost every available option, yet only the front two speakers and the subwoofer will work.

There are also random problems with me being unable to play certain video files with the error "ClassFactory cannot supply requested class" in RealPlayer and Windows Media Player. I have reinstalled both of these programs and found all new updates, but this weird problem still persists. Certain videos will play but no sound will come out, and vice versa.

Is there something wrong with drivers, codecs, programs, etc? I know that my speakers are connected the way they're supposed to, and that the video files are not corrupted. Any help on these problems would be appreciated.

what kind of soundcard do you have?? make sure that you get the latest drivers for this... and also, there might be an option to select your speaker configuration in your soundcard's setup program... for example, creative comes with a program called AudioHQ, in there, you need to set the speaker configuration to 4.1... also making sure that you select 4.1 in the control panel settings.
