Logitech/Sound Blaster Live! troubles

I noticed a while ago that my rear speakers weren't producing any sound. I tried fiddling with all the settings, updating drivers (the newest I could find from creative were from some time in 2003) and i tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything, moving the card to a different slot, the works. Then I tried plugging the green plug (front speakers) into the black port (out for rear speakers). Low and behold, I now get sound from the rear speakers, so the port is ok. When I plug the black plug (rear speakers) into the green port (out for front speakers) i get nothing out of the front. Am I correct in assuming the black jack on my Z640 is messed up? Has Anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix for it?

I assume you checked to make sure your settings were for 4 speakers, and not just stereo?
Did you run the software from creative? (I can't remember the name of the software - it allows you to make all sorts of changes to the nature of the sound)

This is a comon problem with creative cards. You will need to change the Soundblaster control panel options to get sound out of the back. Currently your sound card is set for 2 or 2.1 chanel sound.
