Anyone else have this problem? I tried both Serviio and Tversity...won't recognize MKV, only the AVIs. The MKV file is H.264 MPEG-4 AVC, and 1.5GB.

It may or may not be a firmware issue. What I heard was that the AVIs were the only thing working after a 3/15 update. Maybe they swapped compatibility depending upon the date of the firmwares. I've heard that logitech hasn't had much of an interest in fixing this, although I've always had good luck with their support.

Sorry if you already knew this or if it wasn't of any help. Good luck:)

Agh, doesn't even matter my Revue won't even detect my freaking wifi network. I'm going to return this turd.

Are you kidding me dude? This thing is awesome. I'm typing from it right now, picked it up last night on a whim. Even if I had paid $100 for it, this thing would be worth it. Netflix in HD (no more stupid Wii), the keyboard stays with me when I type, ability to browse the web, watch and control TV with the keyboard, and I'm assuming the ability to hook up my hard drives to it? Awesome. Great purchase I think.

Logitech is supposed to release Android for Revue some time late this summer.

This thing is a hunk of junk. Have it hooked up to my system now and haven't used it in months.

If streaming local content is what you want and you want a STB to do it, pack that bitch up and trade it in for a Boxee Box.

It is worth it for online content and for connecting your Satellite Service, but not worth it for OP's main purpose for playback of local stored content... it is well known not to support MKV and not playback many other common file types.

Summer is almost over? So maybe for fall or winter?

I agree... at the moment that would be the best combination for online content and local playback...

Think I've read now that Logitech has said by the end of September.

I am holding out hope that HC will do something, ANYTHING, to make this thing do something. The preview videos have really kept my imagination from going wild at least.

As it is, I only pull the keyboard out when I know something is on but I don't know exactly which channel it is and typing it in the search makes it easier than scrolling through the guide.

Is that worth $100? Ehhhhh.... Probably not. At this point, I'm kind of just holding out hope that someone will root it and find a way to install Ubuntu or something on it. It would make an excellent SAB/SickBeard/CouchPotato server for $100.

We have both Revue and JB AppleTV /w XBMC hooked up to the living room TV. I use the AppleTV for all my media playback. XBMC plays everything and I can download subtitles on demand for any of my movies. Everything is neatly organized with movie posters and IMDB information all right there.

We use the GoogleTV mainly for watching Korean shows and dramas on the internet. The keyboard makes it easy typing and navigating websites and it plays Flash videos reasonably well. GoogleTV is worth it for us for this one feature. If you don't watch Flash content, GoogleTV probably isn't the best device for you.

See, you could totally consolidate the ATV and Revue in to a Boxee Box and use that for both uses AND get 1080p output for your local media.

No, I couldn't. If I wanted to consolidate and go one device, I would just hook up my spare PC. Boxee is OK device but I would be giving up too much over my AppleTV and GoogleTV combo. I don't care about 1080p. 720p is good enough for me.

Boxee can't do Icefilms streaming like AppleTV. Sure Boxee has Navi-X but so does AppleTV. AppleTV can run majority of XBMC plugins while Boxee can't. Lack of Icefilms support on Boxee is instant deal killer.

Well, with the new information that you've provided, no I suppose you couldn't.

Just speaking for myself, I've never understood the deal with Icefilms. High quality divx streaming? No thanks. If i really want something in a hurry and don't care about quality, I can pull it from usenet in 5 minutes.

But there is a couple of people supposedly working on porting the XBMC plug in to BB. But, meh...

But I don't want to distract from the point of the thread.

They should have released the Revue in Brown instead of Black because it's a turd.

I like the Revue and think it's a bargain at $100. The keyboard/trackpad is brilliant and I love the easy control of the device and TV. We use our device and like it.

You're the first person I met who doesn't like Icefilms. Sure you can pull it from usenet in 5-10 minutes but why? It's easier to push a button and have the movie stream right away without having the hassle of finding the video and downloading the file. If you want subtitles, push another button to instantly browse for subtitles. It's what Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime wish it could be.

No, the keyboard is brilliant. Best part of the device. I wish they sold it separately for less than $100. When they dropped the price of the Revue, they failed to drop the price of the accessories. That keyboard would make a brilliant addition to any living room with a STB. I used it on the BB but the trackpad had slow acceleration and I didn't see anywhere to change it.

I saw a Logitech keyboard at Best Buy today that basically was the Revue keyboard mi us the trackpad. I don't know why they don't strip the "Harmony" functions from it and release it for like $50 or something. Would probably sell brilliantly.

But as for Icefilms, I just can't watch the stuff they have on my 100" PJ. And I don't search. That's what SickBeard and CouchPotato are for. Just tell them what you want and they automagically grab it, send it to SABNZBd, par it, unpack it and move it to the right folder with the right name.

Plus I'm a collector. I like to keep the stuff after I get it for rewatching.
