This may be store error, but I bought the Logitech Quickcam Ultra Vision Special Edition (the black one) for $79.99. This webcam initially had great reviews, but, have been much more lukewarm with each new driver release (apparently, the new drivers don't work as well as the older ones).
Regardless, I went to the Best Buy store in San Marcos (San Diego area) and saw it on the shelf with a tag of $79.99. Knowing that this was the lowest price I have ever seen this webcam sell for, I immediately snatched it up (I saw at least one more on the shelf).
At Bestbuy.com, they have the silver edition for $79.99, but do not have the special edition on the site. When I went to the register to buy it, after the initial scan, the price was $140.99. I then told the cashier that the price on the shelf was $79.99. The manager then came over, grabbed the box, walked to check what the price was on the shelf, came back, and then typed in the manager override for $79.99.
So, not sure whether this was store/manager error, ignorance regarding regular/special edition, or the true price. Good luck.
