I've got a buddy who moved to Vietnam so I asked the wife for a webcam for xmas to chat with him. Using Vista Business x64. When I first installed it, I was getting the error message "Webcam is in use by another application." Tried rebooting, uninstall/reinstall, close other apps, all the usual stuff. Could not get it to work.
Somewhere along the line I right-clicked the webcam icon in the taskbar, and one of the selections was "Check for updates." I did that, it found an update, installed, and it works fine now.
When you first install the drivers and software from the CD, it gives you a checkbox asking something like "Check for updates?" which I selected. It went out to the logitech site and didn't find any updates, so I figured ok, the drivers must be up to date. Obviously they weren't. I don't know if that part of the install app is buggy or what, but if you're having problems with your new christmas webcam, I'd recommend trying that.
Just wanted to get something out there for people that may experience the same problems.
