I just got a Logitech Play Link for my PS2. I plug it into everything, including my Linksys WRT54G router (running WPA2) and the LEDs flicker like they are communicating. But I cannot achieve an internet connection...anywhere.
Apparently the Play Link is blocking my wireless ISP's signal. I could not bring up anything on my PC so I contacted my ISP yesterday and was told that my receiver (the WaveRider they gave me) was not communicating with the tower a few miles away from my house.
This morning I figured I'd unplug the Play Link and see if that was causing the problem, and that solved my issue, my PC is now surfing the internet flawlessly.
Does anybody have any solutions?
I have not yet tried moving the Play Link receiver a little further away from the WaveRider, but I will. I'm just wondering if anybody has any other solutions. Thanks!

***EDIT: I solved this problem, turns out that both of my Play Link receivers needed to be moved slightly.***

I just received my Play Link from Frys.com this morning. Connection was a breeze for me and my PS3 is getting its 1.32v update which is ~100MB. It hit 10% mark after 10 minutes of downloading, which equates to like 17KB/s. I started the same download on my laptop wirelessly and it was over 50% mark when Play Link hit 10%. The rate of transfer on laptop was ~100KB/s. I am very disappointed with its transfer speed. Perhaps wireless gaming is okay with this unit, but if you plan to do any kind of download (especially PS3 downloads which easily surpass 400MB) this is not a good deal. Frys.com had Linksys wireless B access point right next to it in specials spection at about the same price... So beware those of you who plan to use this device to download contents.

EDIT: I may have jumped the gun regarding download speed. I think download of same content via PC is just faster (probably a different server). I'm downloading Gran Turismo HD demo right now and it's progressing much faster than had I expected. I might try connecting it my laptop to check its true limits later.

I used the link in OP message for Surplus Computers. I got a confirmation on 12/28 but can't get in touch with anyone there. I check their reseller ratings and their last 6-months is under 2. :disgust:

Anybody have any experience with this company. I have sent a couple of emails with no response and will be contacting AMEX tonight if I don't hear anything.

From what I understand they are in the mist of a move, give them a few more days. I have bought several things from them over the last 2 years without any problems at all. Im sure they will come through once they are up and running at the new building.
