Logitech Optical wheel won't work in 2K

i just bought a new logitech mousewheel optical... installed the mouseware 9.24, the wheel scrolling doesnt work in 2k, but when i restarted into 98, it works fine... setups are the same on both OS's... mouseware 9.24, ps2 rate at 100hz... i plug the mouse thru the PS/2 port... should i make it USB instead?

PS/2 or USB shouldn't matter. I've plugged this one in along with my current USB mouse and was able to get it working without the drivers. Have you tried uninstalling the drivers? I never install the Logitech Mouseware drivers because I always seem to lose wheel/button functionality on the mouse in some games.

hmm.... the only reason why i install mouseware is probably because i like to use the middle button as internet back command...
there is a reg setting to make your mousewheel compatible for games

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling those drivers... I have that mouse and run 2k and have never had any problems... I've always had wheel functionality with or without the mouseware software.

Anyone with a solution to this problem? I have the same problem. I'm running win2k
with the drivers from logitech. I can't get the wheel button to work in quake.

Would love to have a fix. Any ideas?

yea i dont undertand why this would be a problem, its just a mouse, and even with default win2k drivers, the wheel doesnt work
