my mx700 runs out of batteries after an hour or 2 at the most of web browsing... anyone else having this problem? this is the 4th day i owned this thing and it keeps running out of batteries really fast. this last time i charged it overnight (usually only takes an hour to charge to full) and it still ran out after 1 hour 20 mins of use... should i get a replacement mouse? think logitech will send me some new batteries?

edit: this last charge only took 20 mins.

If you've only owned it for 4 days, then I would just go for an exchange at a B&M. If you mail ordered it, you may want to try a set of NiMH rechargeables first to see if its the batteries themselves. Figure you would've invested in a pair of rechargeable batteries regardless, as the shipping batteries in the MX700 apparently degrade after a year or so (estimated by Logitech). Also, may seem super obvious but I've seen people make this mistake, do you have the AC adapter plugged into the back of the USB plug? Anyways, I would try to go through the retail channel you went through first for a replacement unless they have restocking/shipping fees, otherwise Logitech I heard is excellent with RMAs adn cross-shipping product.

There is definetly some problem, I use my MX700 every day for about 5 hours and I haven't charged it since last Friday. It will probably ask for charging today because it will be a whole week without needing charging. Plus last Sat. and Sun. I used it for many hours to game.

I'd do the following:

1. Make sure the batteries are making contact.
2. As mentioned, make sure the AC plug didn't fall out and is plugged in
3. When charging, does the green light blink?
4. Replace the batteries (less hassle than returning it), maybe yours are bad.

I can normally use mine for quite a few days before I need to recharge it. Then one overnight and I'm good for a week or so.

try these. discharge your battery fully (till no current left). then recharge it to its full condition plus about 20 percent time. if it doesn't solve, replace the battery or exchange it.

make sure when u do place the mouse to charge that the LED light is blinking (green) and not a steady green.

Why would u wanna waste more money? like everyone said, if your got it from a B&M store go get an exchange or give Logitech tech support a call for RMA. Their support is not troll free tho. To fully discharge the batteries you have to leave it over a period of time.
