Logitech MX700 LED flashing

I have the MX Duo and recently the mouse has not been working. Placing the mouse in its charger seems not to charge, and in any case the mouse is flashing its LED constantly, alternating between green and red. I haven't been able to figure out what that pattern means, but it does the same thing whether in the charging base or not.

I bought new 1850mAh AA NiMH batteries and put those in the mouse, and it does the same thing with the flashing. It seems to be just draining the batteries (eventually) by doing that, without actually working as it should. I do have another charger for the batteries; the batteries included with the mouse drained completely a few days back, so I recharged them.

Does anyone have any ideas about this problem?

It seems like the mouse has an internal problem and needs to be replaced. I would give logitech a call and see if you can replace the mouse.
