For those of you that want to know
You can connect the MX1000 the MX700s base station and use it as the mouse, and it will also recharge on the MX700s basestation.

I work near Monarch, they happen to have both on display in their Retail store so I asked if I could try it out, and low and behold it works.

But I could not get the MX700 Keyboard to work with the MX1000s base station.

i'm not sure how batteries work, but the mx700 uses nimh battiers and the mx1000 ues li-ion. you're charging the li-ion battery with a nimh charger...

Seems the MX700 can't recharge on the MX1000 base station but only looks like that is because the middle "riser" thing is a bit too long to allow the MX700 to sit properly on it.

So you say the keyboard that is bundled with the mx700 does not work with the MX1000?

I have been looking for a wireless keyboard that will work with my mx1000. Anyone have any suggestions?
