Noticed the original batteries weren't holding a charge very long, so i swapped them out for some enegizer 2100mah rechargable batteries and let them charge all night (the green light was blinking just fine when i left them).

We'll ive used the mouse for 2-3 hours today, and its already saying 'Batteries are low, Recharge'

Grrrr, does this thing only come with a 1 year warranty?

I've got 2300mAh Energizers in my MX700 and it goes for several DAYS without needing recharge. It's currently hooked up to a KVM switch that I use for my work box and my gaming box. I use it for at LEAST 8 hours of work, then at night, I use it for at LEAST 4 hours of gaming nirvana. Add that to the fact that I often (ok, always) forget to place the mouse in the cradle... and still, the red light still doesn't blink at me for days.

Maybe the mousepad that you're using has something to do with how much energy your mouse uses?

Its a Ratzpads GS... I have heard that black mousepads kill batteries quicker, but it used to last for days on end, not 3 hours.... With the same mousepad...

Mine's black too.

Have you switched the batteries out? Maybe the batteries have just given up, or your charger's just not charging well anymore. If it happens with new batteries that are fully charged using a source other than the Logitech charging cradle, I would think that your mouse is flaking out... but that's worst case scenario. The other scenarios are far more likely.
