The MX510 is not available where i live.

Which is a better mouse ... ? MX 310 or the MX500?

Is the MX500 worth $20 over the MX310? (Thats the price difference here)

I am right handed .. and confused :)

Thanks

Both about the same in performance being they both have the same sensor etc,it really boils down to if you will use the extra buttons that the MX500 has, once you can answer that question you`ll know your answer.

I've got the MX500...extra buttons really come in handy for gaming as well as internet use...

Try out both if you can at a local store. For me MX500/510 was much more comfortable. As for the extra button, most only use the back button while browsing.

500 = better shape/more useful buttons. i actually use the buttons below and above the wheel all the time, same for the side buttons. i use the wheel buttons for end/home for quick webpage navigation, thumbs for copy/paste. 310 i bought on sale and returned, shape is bad. only one side button works,s ince other is for lefties really. the app switch button on either is rather useless so it doesnt count. i set it to f5:p the 310 is not a 510 sensor, the name is misleading. after looking at the 500/700/900, the 310 looks like cheap plastic junk to boot. the 500+ are sleek and don't have gaps in the case. basic mouse feel in the hand type thing

There's no real noticable difference between the 500 and 510. Just get the 500.

I have a MX700 but the MX500 is that mouse with a cord. The MX500 is much more comfortable than the MX310. If you're right handed it shouldn't be a problem.

I've used them all and always end up going back to the MX300. I think it is the most comforatable overall for my hand anyway!

I have a MX510, its basically just got more "hot" buttons for gamers. 500 is very similair. I will be getting a new one for every computer I will eventually own

The 500\510 is much more comfortable than the 310. IMO, the 310 is ergonamically the worst Logitech mouse ever. If you're considering the 310 and don't need the buttons, the MX300 is a viable alternative, and I love mine.

i rather have the mx310 over the mx500 (mostly because of price and buttons i don't need)
but the mx510 is better than both if yur not left handed and like the feel of the mouse
