Logitech MX300

I just got a logitech MX300 mouse, and as I was using it I realized that the laser on the bottom of the mouse doesn't dim when idle. My past experiences with optical mouse all have idling features, I'm wondering if it's a defect on mine or if MX300's are just made this way.

My mx310 doesn't dim. I think the dimming is mainly done to save power, which doesn't really matter on a corded mouse.

I haven't seen any of the MX mice dim like older opticals did. My MX500 definitly doesn't. Same deal with the mx310 I have
