Logitech mx1000

I got a new computer a few weeks ago but I'm still using my old Dell keyboard and microsoft intellimouse explorer 3.0. I saw the mx1000 here for only $40 AR with free shipping and no tax. The reviews I've read have been pretty much unanimously positive. CNET even gave it 9.5 which is pretty high for them. When I first tried wireless mice a few years ago, they had horrible delay and felt "elasticy" and far from optimal for gaming. It seems like this one should be as fast as regular wired mice. Is there any reason I shouldn't get it, i.e. problems I don't know about?

Well I have a crappier version (MX 610) and its already miles ahead of my old intellimouse explorer. So yeah go for the mx 1000...it prolly like the second best wireless mouse (revolution is first).

been using my mx1000 for over a year now. no laggy feel like the mice of 3-4 years ago. works great in gaming, and everything else

I use an mx1000 for gaming as well. It holds a charge through 3-4 nights of heavy use easily and works fine for me for fps games. I have the sensitivity level set to a medium to medium high level so gamers who like maximizing sensitivity may find varying results.

I preferred the mx1000 to the g7 I picked up (and handed off to a relative) due to more thumb buttons on the mx1000 and a better feel for my hand for finger mousing than the g7. This was the older green version of the g7 that the newer black version with rubberized sides may have fixed though.

Haven't used an mx revolution yet, but I have held it in the store. I think I'll hang onto the mx1000 until it breaks down and probably pick up a mx revolution

with a $20 rebate .. Total is $39.99

Anyone with owner's experience of this Mouse ? ?
Some folks have said the battery life is somewhat short.

I've had mine for over a year now. I love the mouse for gaming and everything else.

I had some issues with the battery life about 6 months ago, so I called Logitech support. I told them that the life span had dropped to about 1 day and the sent me a new mouse. I've been extremely happy every since. Best support and great products.

We will see how it goes after it arrives in about 4-5 days
They do have a 3 year warantee, so if the battery doesn't
hold a charge after say 1 year or so, I will call them for a fix.

Then again, it may work perfectly with no issues at all.

I've loved mine to death for almost 2 years now. No problems until recently when it became very unpredictible and extremely erratic during small movements.

Fortunately, another poster here at ATF reminded me to clean my lens (a q-tip did the trick nicely). Works like new now, two thumbs up from me......just remember to keep the lens dust free for optimum performance. Last night I was ready to toss mine in the trash bin, now I'm fat n happy again.

Have it installed since Dec 24 ... so far, fine ... except the Page Forward / Page Back
do not work with: IE7, Firefox 2.0.0.1, Opera 9 (latest), Netscape 7.0 .. all other buttons
do just fine .. this is also with the latest Setpoint release from Logitech
