Logitech MX1000 RF range.. will it go through a wall?

I need a wireless mouse + keyboard to control my HTPC from my "home cinema" room. The mouse needs to be good for gaming too, as I don't want to have to use two mice at the same time.

The MX1000 uses RF-technology (if only it came with bluetooth...) - but how far will that reach, and does it require a line of sight?
I need it to reach through 20cm of brick wall, with me sitting directly on the other side. Will it do that?

Also, is Logitech making any keyboard+mouse packages containing the MX1000 yet? A DiNovo set with the MX1000 would be great (Logitech are you reading this??).

Errr... what? Why do you want to use it through a wall? You don't need line of sight, but that brick wall should kill any hope of a signal.

Are you trying to use the same mouse for 2 computers?

Room 1, bedroom: Contains my desktop pc, doubling as a HTPC (home theatre pc).
Room 2, living room: Contains my projector - connected via a HDMI cable through the brick wall.

So, I need to control my desktop pc, in the bedroom, from my living room.
I could leave the doors open - the signal path from the desktop to my position in the living room would be about 8 metres...

I know that a bluetooth signal passes through walls, but the MX900 is not good for gaming 🙁

can you even get 8 meters RF?!?!!? I know my MX700 could never get that far... and you have a brick wall there. I think you need another option

What about stringing a USB extension/hub from the PC, and plugging in the wireless RF reciever there, and then perhaps you can place the reciever within range of the user?
