Logitech MX1000 problem

I just purchased the Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse and for some reason it will get stuck an be unable to move in a certain direction. For example, I will be moving the cursor around and all of a sudden it wont move left... it's like it hits an invisible wall. As soon I move it back to the right a bit, and go left, everything is fine... very annoying. Anyone have any ideas?

Is it your surface? Try using a mousepad or something just to check that its not the laser's tracking problem. If it is, RMA it. Actually, come to think of it, even if its not the laser tracking problem, it should be able to track on nearly any surface, what surface are you using it on?

i had the same problem with my mx500 and it was the ms drivers i installed for my keyboard. once the ms drivers were uinstalled everything worked good.

Hmmm ok, I am using it on just a regualr mouse pad, and I've tried a few other surfaces and the same thing happens on all. Also, I switched it from the USB port to PS2 with the adapter connector that came with it, and now it seems to work fine.... however its obviously slower than USB. Anyone have any ideas as to why the USB connection would be causing this? I'd really like to be using it on the fastest connection 😛

Thx for the responses.

PS: I have the latest Setpoint drivers installed for it. ( Could it be my USB 2.0 drivers themselves?)

PPS: davidtran007, do you think that the keyboard drivers would actually affect the USB port?

I have the same problem. Over on Logitech's site some people have experimented and Logitech has said that it is a problem with their driver and some USB controllers. They will correct it in the near future with a driver update. For now continue on PS/2
