Just wondering if I should get the MX510 or MX1000. I actually prefer the MX510 cuz it's corded, so what do you guys think? Anyone has a MX1000 and wants to comment on it?

Thanks in advance!

i'm not sure if any laser or optical mouse will work on glass because it's transparent. hte mouse might as well be moving on air, and the only mouse i know of that can do that is that gyration one for tons of $$$. :D

MX1000 does not work on glass, but it works on extremly smooth surfaces that optical mice do not work on.

if the glass happens to have any kick of non clarity to it, then it will work. I tried my mx1000 on the monitor for kicks and it works. i even tried a mirror as well. :) no problems either

The MX700 works on my clear Icemat (textured) so I would assume that the MX1000 does as well.

just discovered them yesterday - basically a nice weight that you put the mouse cord through to prevent it from slipping towards the case. looks pretty tight. only like twelves bucks too...

Hey Mem :D
well, life got busy again and I'm not into hardware anymore as I used to be(as in reading up on all the newest things), but I think in the near future, I gonna read up some more again cuz I wanna get me maybe a Athlon 64 :D What's your current advice on the A64s? Is something new and ALOT faster on the horizon? :) BTW, the 19" Samsung LCD that I got still kicks ass :D

BTW, congrats to Jenson Button, he got 3rd in the Grand Prix of Monza(if you're following the F1 ;))

cheers mate!

Kaido: well, that's not a problem with my cord cuz I just put my external harddisk on top of cable :D

What's your current advice on the A64s?
ndee that`s a long question, depends on if you want a socket 754 or 939 pin Athlon 64 board, also do you want to wait for PCI Express as well, anyway go over to motherboard forum, there`s a few threads on the subject but for 754 pin I like the DFI board and MSI K8N Neo2 for a socket 939 board.

I`m going to wait awhile until the nforce 4 motherboards arrive.

939 socket Athlon 64 board roundup.

Back to the MX1000,I would think it depends on the glass in question but it should track better then any optical mouse, anyway glass is not the perfect surface and I would always suggest in buying a good quality mouse pad, especially for gaming.

Thanks mem, gonna read up on that, I would also prefer a Nvidia chipset over a VIA Chipset, didn't have too good experiences with VIA chipsets, of course, that was back in the Slot A or early Socket A days, but still, you can only do a first imperssion once :)

OK, I always thought that mousepads weren't really necessary for optical mice cuz they reflect kinda weird but thanks anyway for the info :)
