Logitech MX100 or Razer Diamondback

you mean mx1000, the laser mouse, right? I'd go with the logitech in a heartbeat. Their products are great - great responsiveness, comfort, features, and the rechargeable mouse is really handy. Personally, I think that most "gamer" products are crap, and the Razer is no exception. I play games all the time with an MX700, and I've NEVER EVER had a situation come up where I noticed any sort of lag with it. The DPI on high end logitech/microsoft/razor mice are plenty high, so why not choose on features? Personally, I can't even use a corded mouse as my main mouse, it drives me crazy. And the rechargeable batteries, laser tracker, and tilt wheel really set the MX1000 apart. I think I even saw it online for like $40. Plus, I saw on slickdeals or techbargains or something that if you use a generic login and password at logitech's reseller site, then you get half off everything, including the MX1000. It's in the forums on one of those sites - check it out.

Agreed. A lot of people say the Diamondback is amazing, but personally I think it's all flash. Also you'll find yourself having a hard time adjusting to its insane sensitivity - something that isn't required at all. I have an MX510, which has 800dpi, and I'm a freakin weapon in games, I can kill anyone. Hell, I even think the MX1000 is too much, but I'd definately pick it over the Razer POS.

wow a lot of razor hate.

anyway, the diamondback can adjust sensitivity on the fly without going into game options so when you snipe, adjust it down and when you pull out your minigun, pull it back up. it is really convient.

I have used Logitech optical mice and no problems here. I would go with the MX1000 also, just careful not lift it off of the pad while your gaming😉

I'd take the logitech MX518 its about the same and corded (I don't like cordless for gaming) you can also get the MX510 for about half of the MX1000.

Logitech =). I have a 500, not as good as a 518, but feels the same. I don't think its too heavy. I know people who like to take the weight out, but I like the weight.

I never wanted an MX700 or 1000. The 900 might be nice cuz its bluetooth and it offers a bluetooth hub which will be useful for me, but I still don't like the idea of being in a CS match and having my mouse run out of batteries =P.

Plus, they run on Li-Ion batteries? Charge it 500 times and you're dead. Remember iPods and their 18 month battery life? That was only if you charge everyday. Yea... don't like that thought of my mouse's battery dying.

i won a razer at a lan party (woo hoo!) and i ended up giving it to my neihbor for a present.... just wasnt my style i like my microsoft mice...

You might want to check out the mice instore. I had a MX700 break and I replaced it with a MX1000, but I don't like it as well. I have no complaints about how it works, it just doesn't feel comfortable in my hand. It has a odd shape that I found hard to adjust to. I ended up getting a new MX700 on line although they aren't made aymore. If you go the 700 route, buy soon they won't be around forever.
