Logitech MX Revolution started getting all jerky...is it dying?

I have a two month old Logitech MX Revolution that was originally bought brand spanking new. The past two weeks it's been starting to act as if the connection were constantly being lost, the cursor will just suddenly get extremely jerky across the screen or just not move at all. I don't have any wireless peripherals around me and I've also tried a different mousepad, so my only conclusion is that the mouse is somehow dying??? Could drivers also have anything to do with it? I'm currently on Setpoint 3.30. What do you guys think?

Mine does this intermittently in 1-2 second spurts. Some days never, some days 10 times. I've upgraded to the latest software (4.00?), and it helped a little.

My MX 610 does that, but only at home. I took it to work and it was fine. I think I have interference from my WiFi

I have the same problem with my MX610 and I thought it was low on batteries. I tried changing the batteries, but that only solved the problem for a few hours before it would act up again.

I'll try updating the drivers again, but I'm thinking the problem is due to my Wi-Fi as the previous member mentioned.

This problem is really annoying as some days my mouse will be okay, while other days its very annoying.

my Mx5000 used to start cutting out and going all screwy. Unplugging and replugging the transmitter (blue tooth wireless) fixed it most of the time. Now however it's only once or twice a month it does it......

I had similar problems. It even happened with the 4.0 software. I think it has to do with the little usb receiver. It seems from my researching the issue some people have the problem and some dont. kinda 50/50. In the end I got the new G5 version mouse that just came out. I would have liked to have tried the new G9 but it wasnt out yet. So far the best wireless mouse I have used to date is the MX1000. A shame its not made anymore. There's a bluetooth version of it but I doubt its that good. I dont reccomend the MX Revolution to people.

I got an MX Revolution on Craigslist the other day, and at first it did that. It seems like setting Setpoint to use OS implementation of movement fixed it...

i hadn't heard of that solution, but whatever works.... anyone who is having problems, check out the logitech forums. they are usually very helpful...if you have a problem, there is probably a thread on it already, at the least that has been my experience.

From what i have seen on those forums, jittering movement is usually chalked up to router interference, or interference from another wireless device. though by that token, i've had 2 MX revolutions, a VX Revolution, a WRT54G, and a Draft-N router all operating in the same room without any problem. go figure.

I agree in part in the first part of his sentence but totally disagree with the last part. Logitech has some very nice mouse models that work very very well. The newer G5 version is pretty nice for a corded mouse. My fav so far though has been the MX1000. The best mouse I have used to date. Unfortunately no longer made except in blutooth form. I think the G9 is availble now. It wasnt when I traded my MX Revolution for the G5 about 3 weeks ago. I saw a HF post today that a guy said he just got one.
