Logitech MX Revolution, may be time for mine to retire

I posted another thread about this particular mouse already:
http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2399611&highlight=

Since then I noticed that when I last had it on charge, the charging light started flashing red after taking ages longer than usual to charge, and the battery since then hasn't lasted anywhere as long as I would normally expect.

Given the age of the mouse, I think it's a reasonable guess that the battery is dying, and since its two predecessors didn't make it to this mouse's age (I'd guess at least six years), it seems silly to buy a new battery for it now. On the other hand, I hate throwing out things that are properly/possibly easily fixable.

Thoughts?
