G7 has a higher DPI than the MX. The MX is not a bad mouse, but going from a G7 is a downgrade IMO.

I thought the MX revolution was more sensitive...

by the way there are $15 off $100 coupons out for CC as well..not sure how this would affect a rebate

crap cant find any specs on dpi on the MX..so it appears the G5/7 have a higher dpi as this is not a trumpeted feature

It's 800 DPI, unfortunately. It does have longer battery life than the G7, but you should just go with a G5 if you're worried about that.

that's less than my MX1000

seems kinda of stupid to go backwards on dpi...

I was only going to buy it becasue it news and better ..right..LOL

Bought it using in store pickup. Was tempted to be a dick and ask for the $24 gift card since they were a few minutes late on my order... but I couldn't muster the balls to ask since the cashier looked a little like Natalie Portman. :(

Agreed, I gave away the first generation (green one) G7 because I couldn't deal with the lack of second/third thumb button that I have on the MX1000. Sensitivity was very good but the lack of at least one more thumb button was difficult to get acquainted with after using it for a week. To be honest, I only purchased the G7 because Amazon had it for ~$17 after rebate some time last year as I was and still happy with the MX1000.

The MX feels great in the hand, but reviews of its low dpi have been less than stellar for gaming purposes. It should be a good mouse for word processing/spreadsheets though.

Gary here at AT did not think there was any lag for gaming

I only used my friend's MX for just over an hour playing DoD so it may have been because his settings weren't set up exactly to my liking. This is the lowest price on the MX currently so those thinking about picking one up might be willing to go in on one.
