Guys,

I just turned on my PC and my Logitech MX Laser mouse that has been working perfectly for over 4 years just stopped responding!! WTF?

The lights come on on the mouse and it charges fine. It's a wireless mouse and even the Reset button didn't help. I tried restarting the computer twice to no avail.

Please help!

I also looked under Device Manager and it shows two "HD Compliant" mice. Obviously, it is not recognizing the mouse. What do I do?

I'm using an old POS optical mouse now and it's slow as hell!

You're lucky to have gotten over 4 years out of it. You can try moving the receiver from the back of the computer to a USB port on the front panel if you have one, that can help with intermittent problems. It probably just died.

hmm... yea it seems like the mouse just died. I plugged it into two different USB ports and still no response. Weird...

Anyway, what is the best laser wireless mouse out there now? The one that just died is the Logitech MX1000 Laser mouse. What about the Performance MX Laser mouse?

I'm using the MX Revolution. I like it more than the Performance but it's older so you may have a harder time finding it in stores.

thing is logitech has been making bad moves imho in "upgrading" some of their high end line of products, the discontinued Mx revolution overall in features and quality is still a step up from that performance mx. They have never added enough or any value on their subsequent G keyboards since the very first G15, but it seems as far as mouses are concerned that there really isnt an alternative to logitech when u get used to their scroll wheel functionality.

So id say go for the mx revolution on ebay perhaps if u can with warranty. So if u dont like it for anyreason or breaks early you can have it serviced and they will give you a performance mx
