Logitech MX keyboard + mouse

alright, here's the deal.

i own a logitech mx 700 cordless optical mouse. my brother wanted one for christmas. so i reccommended to my parents that they buy him a logitech MX mouse+keyboard set. (cordless keyboard).

now, he complains that the keyboard is a POS. i know it's not, but he seems to be having some issues with it. suppossedly, the 10 keys between the keypad and the numpad (arrows, home, end, pageup/down, del, ins) act as though they have shift in front of them when in some games. counterstrike being one of them.

as such, he wants to ditch the keyboard. he even offered a trade of keyboard and mouse with me.

i'm not sure how to fix the problem, and i dont want to take on a keyboard with problems, if that is what is wrong.

any ideas? if i can get it to work for him, that's ideal. i dont need the wireless keyboard, but it is nice. so, anyone know how to fix this?

oh, drivers have been fully updated, this is XP PRO..etc etc...

I have this exact same setup and I have no problems whatsoever (except for the mouse batteries 😉 )... make sure he didn't spill some coffee or soda on it becuase I did that once on one of my old keyboards and that thing went to the trashcan (numbers and letters were binding and some didn't even work).

I'm not quite sure what you mean by shift inbetween them, but if you are going to do a swap then test it first.

Not sure if this is what you are talking about but there is a similar problem with some ati cards. I don't know if upgrading the drivers will fix it or not. I have a MX duo and have no problems.

well.. i mean they act as though he bound the keys as "shift + key pressed".

he bound shift to jump in counterstrike (i use the same keybindings. p = paint, backspace = talk, ctrl = crouch, enter = reload. arrows = strafe and run)
