Logitech MX 700 Optical Wireless mouse - room electric interference potentials ?

This posting is of considerable relevance and strongly has my attention:
Does anyone have feedback as to this mouse being more practical than the wireless MX 700. Does anyone find the MX700 to have problems with interference in a room full of computers and printers and phones and stuff ?
We presently use a corded mouse (5 buttons are a must) which is ergonomically fine. The cord is no problem. Maybe the wireless will be that much more comfortable. However, I get concerned or curious about potential interference from other electrical interference.
On the other hand if there is no way interference would be a problem, due to the MX 700 being on some kind of dedicated and way off the spectrum band, then we would very possibly bypass the MX 500 and go with the MX 700.

It would seem that even the slightest interference might be "sticky" (pun) with the actions and functions of mice.
I also suppose that one could get a mouse chord extention chord, for the MX 500 if one so wished.

PS
I do have several 2.4 Ghz phones and I would imagine that there could be interference. As it is my 2.4 Ghz phones are interferred with when I am in the computer room. This might portend that the MX700 would like be interferred with.

Totaly unrelated to what you asked but... I just got a MX700 and this thing is a heavy ah heck! I wish I had gotten a MX500 with a USB extender cable. The MX700 is just too heavy for everyday use. Maybe I haven't gotten used to it yet but be aware.

The mouse is on it's seperate band, and has channels which you can scroll through via a button on the bottom. I have an antec 1030 case, and can have the receiver on top if it with no interference at all. I've also use dthe receiver on the opposite side of my comp, with everything running, with no issues at all. Ever. The mouse is the best thing I ever bough tfor this comp.

JHeiderman & stonecold3169,
'Appreciate the response.
This is actually an interesting subject and I went out of my way to post it, for that reason.

If one just looks at your respective postings, it is fascinating.
I am into my 3rd decade as a computer builder and for someone to reference this mouse as
the best thing I ever bought

is, actually, fascinating.

The MX 500 has dropped so much lower in price, and is, apparently, the same thing as the MX 700 but with a cord, so it is a bit of a decision....

Other repsonses are welcomed.

There have been people who have had problems with the access points for the MX700 not getting great reception and being laggy when the AP is near an electronic device such as a monitor. I suggest keeping the AP away from any electronics with about a 1.5 foot distance. There could also be interference from other MX700s if they are on the same channel, so it is important to make sure they are on different channels.

For the most part, I like my MX700 even though it does take some getting use to not having to worry about a cable and the heavier weight associated with the batteries. After getting used to the mouse, I believe it is a great mouse that I wouldn't mind using on other PCs. As far as the difference between the MX500 and MX700, I believe it's just the wired/wireless difference, but there could be more to it. I would imagine that the MX500 is just as good as the MX700 when it comes to moving the mouse.

Thanks, Utterman
They have 2 computers, two ? 21 inch (CRT) monitors, 2 scanners, DSL & analog modems and routers, wall fan, and several inkjet printers. Plus the use of 2.4 Ghz phones. And the phones, on the 2.4 Ghz band, have interference difficulties, when used in the small computer room, but work better after stepping out of the computer room.
There are few curses worse than a skipping and not totally responsive mouse. (enough said on that point)
I guess there is a benefit to the lack of a cord.
I am stabbing forward to get a feel here.

Your response is appreciated. I welcome others.

i love my mx700, i have the base in a gap just big enough for it in between a 21inch crt and a 17inch crt. i also have the base for my 900mhz cordless phone right next to all that stuff and I have never had any problems with interference.

The first night I used it my wrist got a little tight, but after that it's not a problem. It shouldn't take very long to get used to.
