Hey everyone..

My roomate and I just recently bought the logitech wireless optical mice, and I have to say it works great, but there is a problem and was wondering if anyon else encounter this...

If you hold down any button on the mouse, then while your still holding down that button, press a different button, the button you were holding down is 'released' (software wise). i.e. you can't be 'activly' holding down 2 buttons at once on the mouse!

This is extremely annoying, especially for some games.. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I've tried emailing Logitech tech support but they seem unwilling to have a real person actually respond, I keep getting automated repsones that say 'sorry we couldn't find your problem', and to call them is a long distance number.

The same thing happens to my roomates mouse, so this seem to be an issue with all of them I guess..

Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

edit: Answer found, uninstall Logitech software will fix this. Thanks for the answers!

I didn't have this problem until I switched over to Windows 2000. Are you guys using that too? I've had this same gripe for quite some time, tried using different versions of mouseware, tried their support section including the automated email response thing. I've been thinking of just calling them. I'd love to find a solution to this one...that and their mousewheel support is lame at best. It works differently (or not at all) depending on the game.

Just wondering what is Logitech tech hotline or whatever this long distance # they have? I've search the site and can seem to find any tech support #.

Logitech has a lack of live support for it's products :(

Yes we are using Windows 2000.

The biggest thing is in a game I play, Everquest, I hold down the right mouse button to look around and when I hold down the left one it moves me forward, so I have to be holding down 2 buttons.. If I try to do that the second one is released and I can't turn =/

sigh.

I have windows ME and it installed some standard drivers automatically. When I installed the logitech software, the results were much worse so I took them off and have been very happy with it.

It's very light, but not too light.. I like the weight of it.. I just got it about a week ago so not sure how long the batteries last, but my other wireless mouse the batteries would last about 2 months of extensive use. I would guess this would last about the same.

Also, this one uses AA which I like, most use AAA.

I have this mouse and it takes a while for it to "grow" on you. It's not as smooth as a corded mouse (cordless refresh syndrome) but that's ok. The shape and the "feel" of the wheel makes up for it. After a week of using it, using the Mouseman Optical feels weird. With a pair of AA batteries, it is kind of heavy but that's ok. If weight is a concern, use Lithium AA batteries instead. You will also get a 500% longer lifetime as well! :)

Cheers!

They appear to be in stock on CompUSA's site - but not on the Logitech online store.
FYI.
