Logitech MouseMan Wheel (USB) problems w/ Logitech's MouseWare Software

I have a Logitech MouseMan Wheel USB hooked up under Windows ME and it works perfectly fine with all of the native drivers. As soon as I install the latest version of Logitech's MouseWare and restart, the mouse stops working. I'd have to unplug and then plug in the mouse in order to get it working again, but I need to do this everytime I restart.

Anyone have any idea what's going on here ? I have PnP OS enabled in my BIOS and USB Keyboard set to "OS" as opposed to "BIOS"...
