Logitech Mouse Problem in Battlefield 1942

I have the Logitech Cordless Elite Duo, and have the most recent drivers available from the Logitech website. I haven't had many problems with the mouse, though every once in awhile the cursor jumps to the other side of the screen spontaneously. Anyway, I just started playing Battlefield 1942, and if I try to use the scroll wheel to switch weapons, the program goes batty and keeps cycling through the weapons. It usually takes about 20 seconds before I can get it to stop by repeatedly pressing the button. Has anybody encountered this or a similar problem? Any suggestions?

I think this is a logitech drivers issue. Have you upgradd to the most recent driver? I used to have this problem with my corded mouse.

Yes, I've got the most recent drivers. I forgot to add that I have an Audigy sound card and a Radeon 9700PRO, to the extent relevant. I have the latest ATI drivers--not sure about Audigy.

I have had NO problems with ANY games or in Windows at all with just the standard WinXP drivers. Once I installed the Logitech software/drivers, things went weird in games and the scroll wheel didn't work properly.

My suggestion is go without the Logitech Mouseware drivers, and just stick with the default Windows drivers.

Does this negatively affect the working of the keyboard (I use the F-keys, etc.)? Or does in only affect the mouse?

There are seperate drivers for the mouse and keyboard.

I have the iTouch (keyboard) drivers installed, as I like using the function keys etc, but have not seen a use for the Mouseware software :)

I've seen some people say to do this:
Uninstall your Logitech Mouseware software.
Redownload the Mouseware software from Logitech.
Right click on the mouseware.exe and extract the files (need to have winzip or something similar installed)
Then you can add a new mouse, point to the directory you extracted the files, and voila. Logitech mouse w/logitech drivers w/out logitech mouseware software.
I tried this and it did work for my dual optical mouseman... thumb button even worked in BF1942.

However my mouse seemed to skip a little more without the mouseware installed... so currently I have it installed again. Great mice. Terrible drivers.
