Logitech MOMO + WinXP + Nascar2002.... I'm about to give up!

I'm only posting this here because Ive been trying to post it on the Sierra Nascar2002 board for 2 days but my post keeps "timing out" for some odd reason.

Since Im sure theres alot of MOMO owners on this Forum, Hopefully someone here can offer some ideas of what I can try.

Ok, when Im racing My wheel goes whacky after about 20min.

I mean like, usually I need to have the center of the wheel at about the 1:00 position to go straight at Vegas.
This is normal as a result of the "left pull" in Nascar 2002.

After about 20min of racing, all of a sudden I need to have the center of my wheel at the 3:00 position to to go straight!

Ive been trying to figure this out for about a month, with no luck at all!!

Heres my "relevant" system specs:

WinXP Pro (clean install after format & all updates from microshaft installed)

Epox 8K7A mobo (AMD northbridge & Via Southbridge)

VIA 4in1's ver: 1438(2)V(a) (except the agp drivers cuz I have an AMD northbridge)

AMD AGP drivers ver: 130

Logitech MOMO driver ver:411c

Ive tried all versions of VIA, AMD & MOMO drivers & the problem persists, the ones listed are the latest versions I have tried.

Actually, I was very pleased with the default VIA drivers XP installed & I only decided to try upgrading to try & fix this problem.

I just recently tried the VIA USB FIX version: 1.10
NO LUCK!

Im honestly thinking about ditching my MOMO, I cant race like this!

Anyone have a similar setup & have ANY ideas of what to try?

In case something else in my rig matters & I missed it in my list.
My TOTAL system specs:

WinXP Pro
Epox 8K7A
512mb Pc2100 (crucial)
Athlon XP 1900
SB Live 5.1
40gb Maxtor (7200 rpm)
400w PSU
16X TDM CDRW
Netgaer ethernet card
Klipsch promedia 4.1s
21" Sony Trinitron (aperature grille)
Logitech MOMO FF Wheel

Theres nothing worse than driving your heart out in a Championship Season race, running in the top 5 with my "tweaked" setup & AI at 100%, only to have a good run spoiled by my wheel/nascar2002 or whatever deciding to change the centering position of my wheel!

I have ZERO issues with any other game.

And this isnt the common centering issue with the MOMO cuz my wheel centers perfectly in control panel & at the START of a race.

Any ideas AT ALL out there?

I am not an expert at N2002, but I have played quite a bit of N4. Nor do I know anything about the MOMO wheel, but my first thought is that there may not be anything wrong with the game, your drivers or your hardware. Could it just be your tire ware?

<< After about 20min of racing, all of a sudden I need to have the center of my wheel at the 3:00 position to to go straight! >>

After 20 minutes of racing, your rf tire may be getting worn and causing you not to get the same grip as when it was fresh? Have you checked your tire temps or ware when it starts pulling? Have you tried making a pit stop for fresh tires and see if there is any difference?

I am not sure if any of this helps. You may also want to post your problem at Team Lightspeed forums.

I wish it was just my tire wear.

Usually when my tires wear out I do have to turn a bit further & get back in the throttle a lttle "easier" to keep the car under control.

But Ive never had my tire wear effect the center position of the wheel on the straight stretches.

I can fix it, if I pause the game & recalibrate my wheel in the Nascar2002 setup menu.
So im assuming the game is loosing my calibation settings during a race.

But this usually causes me to wreck when un-pausing the game cuz when I paused it, my wheel is pointed so hard toward the outside wall to stay straight, & when I un-pause the game & try to correct it b4 I hit the wall.........well, if you played Nascar4 enough, you know what happens if you suddenly jerk the wheel at 180mph..right? 😉

This happens with FF enabled or disabled. BTW

BTW Dhawk,
Thanks for reminding me of the Team Lightspeed forums.

I completely forgot about that board and it does seem like it would be the best place to ask for help.

huh, go figure.

I went to the team lightspeed board & was tring to log in & it timed out & now I cant get back on that page either.
I get the good ole "this page cannot be displayed" message.

Between Sierra Nascar2002 board & the Team light Speed board I dont think Im ever gonna get a post up asking for help.

This is getting annoying!
