Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse

First of all, has anyone else heard of this mouse?

Secondly, if you have heard of it, do you know if it supports PowerDVD 5.0? I have an HDTV and my system is connected to it via an ATI HDTV adapter so I can play games and watch DVD's with HDTV timings. So, I've been looking for a decent remote, and I was considering the Keyspan Digital Media Remote until I saw this guy. I couldn't really find any info on the Keyspan's range, and the Logitech mouse supposedly has a range of 10ft (perfect for me). Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you'd like to think it would support a major software DVD player like PowerDVD, but the fact that there's no mention of application support kind of worries me. The Keyspan Digital Remote does support PowerDVD and any other application that utilizes keystrokes, but it definitely doesn't look as cool as the Logitech nor does it have the extra mouse functionality.

Also, I just noticed that CNET's review of the Keyspan remote states that it has a range of 35ft. Although I'm always a little skeptical of CNET reviews, especially given their overt bias for Dell products, I've found a couple of other sites that also mention this spec.

Anywho, I might just end up calling Logitech and asking them directly. Hopefully I won't get one of their smart-ars sales reps again.

Well, I finally called Logitech, and they said this mouse uses Logitech proprietary software called MediaPlay to play MP3's, DVD's, and so forth. So I don't think I'm even going to bother. I'm just going to get the Keyspan.

I'm using the MediaPlay mouse and at least the Volume and the Play/Pause buttons work with every media player I tried, including WinDVD, MediaPlayer Classic, Winamp, Media Player 9, Logitech MediaPlay, RealOne and InterActual Player.

Where did you get one? Also, does it work with PowerDVD? How's the range? This certainly doesn't sound like what the rep told me.
