Logitech keyboard stops working randomly

sometimes, for no reason, or usually when I have disconnected some wires to install other stuff, my Logitech Itouch keyboard will stop working......it's plugged in, but no lights come on and it doesn't work. I shut up my computer, plug in an old, very 'standard' keyboard, and it always works. then usually after maybe a day or something, I can plug back in the Logitech and it'll work.....

it's strange. I have the feeling the Logitech isn't standard enough (because of all the stupid Itouch buttons it has) and therefore needs some special drivers to be recognized...could be wrong of course.

I have the keyboard in the PS/2 slot with a USB converter. I can never make the USB slot work.

any tips or similiar experiences to share?

thanks 🙂

the iTouch is wireless, right? Lift the keyboard, and press the Connect button on the other side of tbe keyboard, and also the Connect button on the receiver.

If your computer recognizes the keyboard, but the keyboard still doesn't work, uninstall the drivers you currently have, and reinstall the latest drivers from the logitech website.

If that doesn't work, reboot and initiate the computer to look for the keyboard. If the computer does not recognize the keyboard, add it manually.

Hope this helps.

The way I`ve my iTouch keyboard plugged in( btw mine is not wireless) is just the USB plugged into the computer I leave the PS2 lead loose not connected to anything and it works fine with no problems even all the internet/short-cut buttons work ok.

Try installing the latest iTouch software from here which is iTouch? v1.83.

sorry, should have mentioned the type of keyboard, it's a Logitech Internet Navigater.....WITH cord.

tried everything you said, still nothing. the computer recognizes the keyboard, says the drivers work, etc, but it just doesn't work. Numlock never lights up upon boot. bout ready to toss out this crap and get a $10 basic keyboard cus I hate stuff that requires drivers :/

Mem: I don't understand you excactly....do you have your logitech keyboard plugged into the USB port....and then another PS/2 plug wire in the PS/2 port? that just ends in nothing? or what 😛

news: finally made it work! I connected my logitech kb to the USB port and my old one to the PS/2 slot. this way, I could install the USB keyboard while having a keyboard to type on. rebooted, and keyboard works.

thanks for your suggestions, appreciate it.

Prodigy^,sorry I thought I was clear anyway on my Logitech iTouch keyboard I have both USB and PS2 lead,I only have the USB lead from keyboard to PC plugged in,the PS2 lead from keyboard I don`t have it connected to anything.

Anyway glad you got it working.
