I used to own a G11 backlit gaming keyboard. Within 1 year, the cable frayed at the base. I think it was maybe cause I used it on my lap, didn't have a desk with keyboard tray. Either way it was unexpected. I kept the G11 so I might repair it someday. My attempts failed.

Only recently, with the G11 out of warranty, did I contact Logitech to see if they could send me just the replacement cable, as I knew I didn't qualify for an in-warranty full keyboard replacement. Since the cable just had a PWM connection on one end, I figured this'd be simple.

They said since the G11 was no longer made, they offered to just replace it with a new G110. They estimated 7 to 10 days shipping, I got it in 2 days -- all at no cost, and out of warranty for the G11.

They did require me to take photos, which I did.

I was just amazed at the outcome and I'm really enjoying the G110 (on a keyboard tray).

The black paint on my G15s keys is essentially gone on several of the keys so now they're just blue squares. It was out of warranty by the time I cared enough to contact them and they told me to pound sand. Your mileage may vary with out of warranty requests.

They make cheap products that they know will break, and would rather give you a replacement that costs them very little than lose repeat business.
Microsoft does the same with their mice, you don't have to prove anything or send the broken one back to them.

yeah, Logitech can eat a bag of dicks..My 14 month old G-15 died, like many of them do...and there were useless in helping me .

they offered to 'give me a discount" towards a new keyboard, if I sent in my keyboard, but they would not tell me what the discount was until they received mine.....yeah, OK...I'm gonna send it in and then you offer me 10% off a new one, and then fix mine for .25 cents and sell it as a refurb.......no thanks...
I still have it as a reminder of why I will never buy another product from them....it still looks brand new, it just don't work

I think I had an OOW (might have been IW, have no idea) headset before I manned up and got some Beyerdynamics, and I kinda finagled with them from what I can remember, anyway, got a new one I think.

I personally have had an excellent experience with logitech. I had a G5 mouse with a button that went haywire after 2 1/2 years on the 3 year (I think) warranty. Called them up and they sent me a new one without having me send in the old one.

My control pod for my Z-5500 system was all messed up and wouldn't read a digital/optical signal. I called them up and I had to pay for shipping on the control pod and the remote, but they sent me a whole new system and let me keep my old speakers and subwoofer.

My friend had a G7 mouse that was messed up, and he had to email them a scan of the receipt. He was sent a new G7 mouse with no other questions asked.

If I can, I will always buy Logitech. Their warranty system is unmatched by any other company in my opinion. The only product that was messed up that I didn't try to warranty was my G15 keyboard I spilled beer all over, I wasn't even going to try to warranty that.
