Logitech IO Pen...paper issues?

I'm curious about the Logitech IO Pen here. It says it uses 'special' digital paper to write on, is it reusable or do you have to keep buying this paper from Logitech to keep the pen in function?

If it's reusable, I'd definitely consider getting this to record all my lecture notes, etc.

Thoughts?

No, as far as I can tell, they're being figurative with the paper thing in trying to explain how the pen remembers what you wrote.

If you look at the how it works section it says the paper is covered with dots that are read by an optical sensor.

Review that supports that

Replacement notebooks aren?t cheap! Once the included pad is full, one 80 page Digital Notebook by Mead is $9.99, available at CompUSA and Staples to name a couple main locations. That price seems a bit high for a notebook, so I decided to try photocopying sheets from the notebook to see if I could get around this? details on the success of this experiment discussed later.

Thanks for that review Viper. I'd be all over this pen if it wasn't for the necessity of the digital paper. It seems odd that Logitech would design the pen to require digital paper. I thought an optical tracking device on the pen would be more than sufficient, but I guess it uses the dots as a guideline for positioning.

This is a first generation device - I'll probably wait for a 2nd or 3rd gen and hopefully they'll have improved the technology.
