I got this same headset about 6 months ago or so from walmart, for a couple bucks more. Until then I was just using speakers and a desktop mic, and was reluncant to get a headset. But it's actually a really decent headset, especially for the price. It has interchangeable "earplates", behind-the-head style headphones, and has a very long cord (short headset cords can be a nuisance sometimes). It also has a nice convenient little volume control and mic switch on the cord.

🙂

EDIT: If you do a search on pricegrabber.com for the same headset, and you buy from one of the retailers listed, pricegrabber has their $5 bonus available, get $5 back when you send in a review of the product. This would make it about the same price as the original site (after bonus).

Is this a USB headset by any chance?

No, it's 3.5mm audio plugs.

From the Technical Specs:
"Connector: 2 standard 3.5mm audio jacks (audio in and out)"

whats up with covering both ears entirely so you cant hear your pc speakers and are stuck listing to all sound from these tiny walkman like headphones, Id be much happier with something like the xbox live headset.

You could be ghetto like me and put these around your neck (like a necklace) and just have hte mic sticking up near your mouth.

I've used this headset. I'm on Skype quite a lot; enough to wear out headsets with regularity, and I got these awhile back to replace a CyberAcoustics headset that was causing some problems. They are the worst headset I've used. I figured they would be on par with Labtec, but not even close. Fortunately I found a place that still had some Labtec Axis-002 headsets and I stocked up a couple. The Logitech Extreme Gaming headset look almost identical to the Axis-002 headsets, and they would be the next set I'd try.
