Logitech IM camera--help!

I got this camera (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ...tails/US/EN,CRID=2204,CONTENTID=11635) for my birthday just a couple days ago, and windows is telling me that "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it."

I followed the directions, which said to install the software first, then plug it on. Is there some modification that I need to do on the USB controller or something? I'm running a new model dell inspiron comp on windows xp pro right now. Any suggestions would be overly appreciated!
