Logitech Harmony remotes

Just asking for advice, suggestions and tips is all.
I've heard these remotes are great for controlling all your HT equipment. How about older gear?

I have bought many remotes in the past that state 100% compatibility, but end up controlling only 2 things! Will I have to return one of these after buying it? Or will I be totally satisfied?

Will it control all this????
I'll try and list all the gear and mdls I know off the top of my head........


Tv-- Panasonic 50" plasma 50px50u (1.5 years old approx)
Reciever-- Onkyo TX-SR705 (new)
HD player-- Toshiba A3 (new)
Sony vhs/dvd player-- SLV-D350P (1 year old approx)
JVC 200disc cd player--- XL-MC222 (an easy 10+ years old)


EDIT: If one Harmony can do this, what's the tune/mdl ?




 
Yes it will control all of that. The only questionable one would be the JVC...but provided you have the original remote...you can always learn its commands.
 
I just checked and the JVC CD jukebox is in the Logitech remote device database so it will control that as well.

The Logitech remotes are very nice. The only complaint I have is their web-based programming. It works OK but I'd rather have a local application on my system that provides for finer-grained control of the remote codes and how they function when programming an action into the remote. The web-based system can sometimes be a bit convoluted and nanny-ish, but you can usually get it to do what you want after futzing around with it enough.
 
The only thing the regular Harmony remotes won't control are Bluetooth components like the PS3 or Wii.

I have the latest version. afaik, the app is still based on being connected online and logged-in.

It's just that I find the whole hand-holding process a bit annoying.
