I'm trying to set up a Harmony 620 to work with a home made HTPC (Vista Home Premium 32 bit) using an ASUS PHC3-100 Media Center card. I don't need it do anything too special, say switch to HDMI2 for the audio and video input and control the volume. It would be nice if I could get the controller to do the Media Center functions, but that may be too much to ask.

Any suggestions?

I had to program my remote (Harmony) one command at a time from the media center (dell version) remote.

It works great. Leave the PC in sleep mode, grab the remote...Watch HTPC activity, when the inputs change hit "Sleep" and it wakes up.

With Vista Media Center and Hulu desktop, I only grab the mouse / keyboard for updates (turned those off by default)

If you have the Microsoft Media Center remote I think you may be able to program the harmony to substitute for it. I have the 880 and have it program with a one touch operation "Watch a Movie" where it will turn on TV and set it to HDMI 1, set receiver to HTPC (custom label for HDMI 1) input and start up Windows Media Center on the HTPC.

Did you have to do a custom program like sivart suggsted, or was there an easy way to do it?

When adding my devices I just used Microsoft as the manufacturer (custom built PC) and selected Media Center PC or something like that.

[FONT=&quot]I use the Dell OVU4003/00 receiver with MediaPortal. It took me a few tries to figure out the correct device to choose with my Harmony remote, but once I did, it worked great with no programming whatsoever. I'll look tonight to see what I chose. I need to make a change on my remote anyways.

When I press Watch TV on mine, it switches the TV and receiver to the HTPC inputs and opens MediaPortal. I'm going to remove that last option, because I find myself using the computer without MediaPortal more than with MediaPortal (web surfing, internet streaming, etc.). All I have to do to open MediaPortal is hit Menu, which isn't too difficult.

Edit: I think I chose something along the lines of what jtvang125 said, but I can't say for certain.

I hadn't noticed Microsoft as an option, but I'll give that a try. Thanx!!
