I think that's about the 10th time I've posted that link here. If they ever move it or close down I'm done for.

Hah, more informative than you know! It helped me determine that there was in fact a revision and what I actually have is a 520 and not a 550.

I'm still looking for anyone who has had a 520 and a 676 that can (hopefully) persuade me to make the switch. Believe me I want something new as I'm not thrilled with this at all.

mine has a delivery estimate of 8/6-8/10 but it hasn't shipped yet. Maybe it's because I'm paying $25 for it :(

Got it...easy to setup. Only bad part is, at least for our DVR setup - there's only one box with a dual setup - my remote uses UHF PRO, and the remote will only learn IR. :( Anyone want to buy mine? :(

According to many feedback notes on amazon.com, the buttons stop working after 1 year.

Amazon feedback on harmony 676

Oh well.....it's $50. Ohhh wait, $60 for those who missed out. For the thousands upon thousands of users. A few people are bound to break theirs. Just think about all the people with little kids treating these remotes like toys.

Mine is coming on Tues. WOOHOO! Thanks again OP!

Well people that have problems are the ones to most likely voice their opinion. I bet that there may be a couple of problems, but I'm sure Logitech will allow you to exchange it if doesn't work anymore.

Diogenes,
I don't think it was the batteries. They don't say all the buttons stopped working. They say that some of the most frequently used buttons stopped working.

Here is a typical quote:
"I loved this remote until the most used buttons stopped working after about a year and a half. Since it is out of warranty is basically now a paper weight. At first I would have given this unit 5 stars, now I will only give it one star."

Here is another slightly more expensive Harmony 670 remote at Amazon. I don't see any feedback about these buttons failing.

Harmony 670 $77.23 at Amazon

It's also a newer model...not even a year old. You can find negative reviews on just about any product ever made. We also have no idea if this person had the remote in a household full of kids, if it was dropped frequently, spilled stuff on it, etc.

Hmm... I thought it was just my 676 that had problems with buttons not working... After about a year of regular use (household with no children or pets), the "off" button has become VERY unresponsive; We have to press it about 4-6 times for it to register. Having said that, I would still rather use it in its current state than go back to using a brazillian remotes.

If that user had even bothered to call logitech/harmony they would have taken care of that remote. They replaced my 880 which was probably a good year out of warranty. (Up volume stopped working)

Not only are they top notch products, they have very good support behind them. Ive met with several of their reps at various CE shows and expos, they are a rare breed in this industry. At the last show here in ny, i described some problems i was having with the said 880 and some older models my sister had, instead of the usual "call tech support" line, they took some time to explain what caused my problems and offered some legitimate solutions.

If you consider how much you use the remote and the usual brutal conditions they go through, im surprised that not more of them fail. I did a count and Ive ordered 7 of these remotes for friends and familes over the years, and only 1 has down and out failed, which they replaced with a brand new remote.

Sorry to sound like a commercial, but I really love these stupid things.

Got mine as well. There were a couple of quirks setting it up, but mostly my fault. I changed the face plate and I was too stupid to realize that one of the buttons was being pressed down the whole time.

Anyway, got it working and works great.

I'm only replacing two remotes as well, (well three, I never had a 360 remote to begin with) and I like just for the activities. I love the fact that it automatically switches to the correct input on my crappy hdtv. With the old remote I'd have to go through all seven inputs to get to the one I wanted.

wow this remote was too easy to set up

1 remote to rule them all, this is it

plus i am finally able to confirm myself that i can be 30+ feet away from my dvr box and control it without issue

edit: i didn't know it controls ceiling fans too this is just too good to be true

got it in the mail today.

i am a bit disappointed. it isn't too difficult to setup, but it would be nice if the control/software was a bit more intuitive. i'd like the control buttons that are used frequently to be on page 1 of the control, and not page 5.

the macros are a bit lacking as well. i haven't been able to fine control the settings for, say watching TV. i need to 1 component do 2 things, but this only allows for the one thing.

it is refreshing to have one control instead of 6 though. hopefully by playing around with it a bit more, i'll be able to do the things i want it to do.
