Logitech Harmony 676 Universal Remote Control $49.99 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping.

Logitech Harmony 676

Updated link thanks rossman.

The price has raised $10.00 since the original post but still a good deal.

A lot of people like this remote for its button placement compared to other Harmony remotes but all agree any Harmony is a good harmony.

Now THIS is a hot deal. Anyone who needs a universal remote, now's your chance. I have this remote, got it for $90, that was a good price when I got it. I don't think this price will last, check the other retailers that are all selling it for over $100.

Another recommendation for this remote. Easy to program and easy to operate.

Great remote. Great price. Any Logitech Harmony remote you can get for $50 is a good deal. Controls nearly everything up to and including air conditioners and ceiling fans (IR remote controlled ones.)

If you have more than a couple of remotes to deal with all the time, get it.

Thanks, I missed out on a couple of harmony deals in the past, so I picked this one up.

Got a $25 giftcard so I applied that toward this purchase which brought it down to $24.99 shipped. Thanks OP.

In for one!

i just checked ebay for the possibility of resale for a profit, and it looks like most people are selling new ones for around $65 there, so maybe its not that much of a deal.

How does it compare to Harmony 880? Based from this chart, the only disadvantages are monochrom screen and fewer on-screen buttons. Any hands-on comments?

The top review on amazon sold me especially talking about button placement on the 676.

For the price you could nearly get 3 of the 676's instead of the 880

To me, the only important difference is that the 880 is rechargeable and that is not worth the extra $100 to $200 it costs. They both do the same things using the same programming and the same database. I can buy a lot of batteries for that and I certainly don't need the display to be in color.

Um, it's $15 off of that price, free shipping, and from Amazon, not Jimmy Jackass selling it from his parent's basement. It is a hot deal.

i didn't say it wasn't a deal, i just said it wasn't as hot as its made out to be, but of course, this is AT and any chance to be an asshat is going to be taken.

I have both a 676 and 880, and yes, I prefer the 880 but for this price the 676 is a steal. Its discontinued (replaced by the 670) but works great, the button layout is nice.. The only issue I've had is that it goes through batteries quickly, but if you get some rechargeables it isn't a big issue.

I don't have a 360, but my son does and he has the 676 and they work fine together. I have a TiVo series 2, Harman Kardon receiver, Sony DVD/VHS player combo, cable with no box, and Toshiba TV and no problems. I have the 659, which has crappy button layout, but works the same.

I'm wondering if this can control my comcast dvr box from 30+ feet away

my current issue with the comcast remote is it doesn't work from 30 feet or more

edit: for this price had to bite

thanks op!

I've owned or programmed for family members pretty much every harmony remote made. (Back to the original scroll wheel nightmare)
My 880 finally gave up the ghost a month ago. (was an original release model). I bought a 670 to replace it and it works fine.

What you have to realize is that the 880 shares the same "os" as the rest of the line, so programming and functionality are pretty much identical. Only differences are the button layout and the color screen on the 880.

Logitech sent me a brand new model to replace my busted remote, and its been sitting in a desk ever since. Like i said, functionality is pretty much identical, and im getting used to the layout on the 670.

As for the charging cradle, since mine was an early unit, it always gave me problems when i tried to place it on the cradle, was a constant struggle until it finally stopped charging altogether. Im sure the new unit works better, but Im leery of putting it back in the rotation.

To keep it from munching batteries, turn off the backlight or reduce its on time for the shortest possible. I dont have an issue at all now with the new 670 or the 688 (my personal fav) in the bedroom.

Thanks for the heads up OP! I am building a HT system and need a good universal remote to handle the 4-5 components & multitude of configurations. This remote will be perfect.
