Logitech G9

I replaced my Logitech G5 with a Logitech G9. In BF2 my missle accuracy as a co-pilot in planes and choppers using the G9 is terrible compared to what it was like using the G5. Whenever I click on an adversary target my missle quickly veers off course. The G9 has a faster response but terrible accuracy. Could my computers mouse sampling rate have anything to do with it? What is the optimal mouse sampling rate for gaming? Anybody out there have success in BF2 with a G9? What are your settings?

I have a G9 also and have mixed feelings about it.

And, honestly, I intentionally do not use the SetPoint drivers; they make the mouse floaty and impossible to dial-in. I simply use Windows default mouse drivers.

That and midrange DPI setting works best for me.

Perhaps you compensated for the lower report rate and dpi, now that it's higher you are over shooting. Make sure acceleration is off and launch the game with a variety of report rate and dpi settings. The G9, from my experience, is one of the best high dpi mice ever made. It's a cut above the G5/G7 variants.

How do I turn off acceleration and where do I adjust my report rate? What report rate setting should I use? What DPI settings have you found to be most effective in BF2? I currently have the 200, 400, 800, 1600 selected. I usually am at 400 when missling in the plane and chopper.

When I upgraded from my MX1000 to G7, I couldn't hit crap in FPS games.

When I upgraded from the G7 to my G9 (currently using), I couldn't hit anything in FPS games again.

Each time it took about 3-5 hours to get up to 80% of my "potential," and two weeks to finish off the last ~20%. In the end, I loved the new mouse MUCH more both times.
