Awesome mouse, great price, good vendor (ClubIT). I got mine for about $65 a couple months ago and it was worth every penny.

This is so tempting...

Why? Because its ClubIT (ClubAR), who generally doesn't have good price w/o a manufacturer rebate. I'm confused why they don't have their $4-$6 crappy add-on rebate to advertise an even lower price as well.

Nothing beats the good ole G5 with two buttons, I wouldn't use this mouse if given one.

Yeah, stick with your 2000 dpi mouse (vs 3200 dpi of the G9) and your 500 reports per second (vs 1000 rps of the G9)

Oh yeah, and the G9 has 2 buttons too?

Sounds like you paid more for G5

yeah the G9 wipes the floor with the G5 once you get used to the shape. Not only are the features/specs better but the feel is amazing for gaming. It definitely helps with your accuracy.

I was wrong about the reports. The G5 does indeed do 1000 rps. I am a big enough man to admit my mistake though ;)

i think the mx1000 is the mouse with the best funcitonality with buttons with layout logitech hasnt really done anything better since in my opinion, it got 3 buttons for the thumb and 5 on top w/out counting the obvious left and right clicks, plus the up and down scroll wheel, with a mod u can profile these buttons for games etc and u end up with convenient gameplay.

so there is really no need for this G9 unless u desire the extra stuff u prob can live without

but in terms of functionality G9 is not much better than the MX 1000, its a shame that it isnt wireless either cause wireless mouse like mx 1000 has virtually no lag in gaming just a myth to me

similarly with the G15 keyboard they revised it and made it worse than the original removed many macro keys, basically butchered it and added inessentials

just thinking that their top mice and kb dont offer much compared to their past stuff

Thanks Googer, I went ahead and got one. I have my doubts about this mouse, because I really like wireless, but I haven't seen a decent wireless mouse in some time, and nothing good looks to be on the horizon. Logitech took a huge backwards step with the G7, and having to swap out battery packs with it. When I have a wireless mouse, I should be able to drop it in a cradle and not worry about it. Swapping batteries takes all of the convenience out of the wireless.

To SuPrEIVIE....I like the MX1000 also, but I didn't care for the shape while gaming. The high arch on the top bothered me, but I have no complaints about the performance. I'm currently using an MX700 for gaming, and the MX1000 for normal mouse work. My 700 is starting to wear out, and I'll need a replacement soon, so I figured I'd jump on this deal while I could.

Edited for incorrect model number.

I completely disagree. I use the MX1000 and G7. The G7 is for gaming and MX1000 for everything else. The MX1000 is a horrible mouse for gaming. Use the G7 and you will notice lag with the MX1000. Also, the MX1000 has a slow response rate of 125 compared to the G7's 500 (highest for a wireless mouse). The ability to change dpi on the fly is also another plus for any gaming mouse.

lxkllr, if you really want a wireless gaming mouse, I would recommend picking-up a discontinued G7. B/c it's been discontinued you can find them for around $50.

Note the G9 at this price is an excellent deal.

I put the wrong model number in my post, with my complaint about Logitech. I rejected the G7 because I don't want to have to swap out batteries. I'd rather be tied to a cable than have to physically remove a battery to charge it. I like the shape(same as all the classic gaming mice), but the battery is a deal breaker. I'm hoping the G9 ends up working ok. Other than the cord it looks like a great mouse.

Honestly, I'd rather swap out the batteries on the G7 then forget sticking my MX1000 in it's cradle and be without it for several hours to recharge. I can swap batteries in five seconds. With the MX1000, I'm forced to have a second mouse.

the mx1000 is horrible for gaming. the mx518/g5/g7/g9 are all better than it. the shape is totally wrong for fast movements and it is definitely laggy compared to gaming mice line. the g7 isn't much better though either because although logitech claims it is identical to the g5 the performance seriously goes down when the battery pack is under 1/2 full meaning you have to switch it a lot more often than when it runs out which is quite frequently already.

I get about 8 hours on a charge on my G7. Not an issue if you use it only for gaming.

I be on my MX510 and MX518 till they die. The G7 is a horrible mouse for gaming. If you don't notice the input lag, then you certainly don't play fast paced games....Screw wireless gaming mice. Buy a mouse, keep it till it dies and then buy another one. Hell, I don't go past 800 dpi for any of my games so I'm not sure the 3200 dpi selling point is even relevant.

The newer two button G5 also reports at 1000. But it's rather pointless and causes ridiculously high cpu usage.

I have both a G5 version 2 and an MX revolution and I can honestly tell a dfference in the two. The G5 is far more responsive.
