Logitech G700 - going crazy

I noticed some issues with mouse being a little too sluggish when playing FPSs. Upon cleaning the sensor, even more stange behavior happened:
I am using Surface 1030 by Func.net as my mouse pad. When I try to move the mouse in a straight line, the pointer becomes jittery and jumps up and down in small increments. However, if I change the surface, to say my table, it seems to work better. I tried cleaning the sensor, mousing surface. I didn't notice this issue until this morning. Is it time for a new mouse or can I try something else - a different mouse pad, perhaps?
Also, what are some good alternatives for a gaming, wireless mouse with a similar button layout to G700, ideally under $100.
Thanks!

Make sure acceleration is off, etc.

Do other mice work fine on that mosuepad?

If so, the sensor could be bad.

Email logitech, they'll probably send you a brand new mouse.

Its a G700, its got acceleration issues and jitter issues on various surfaces due to the sensor. Its designed that way by Logitech, working as its meant to!

Contcated logitech. They may be sending a replacement. @BrightCandle - sarcasm? The mouse was working fine for about 6 months.

Yeah try a new one and see if it clears up. I have issues with my g700s and the forward/back buttons not working but it tracks fine.

I have had issues with my Staples branded mouse pad, on my G500, but it's mostly because the surface itself is dirty as hell.

Bit of spit and a couple of sweeps, works like a charm.

That said, maybe the sensor is loose. A simple easy test you can do to any optical mouse is shake it firmly mid-air. If the cursor moves, the sensor is loose.
