So have I. But it's also good to have customer reviews as well.

I did and they are pretty basic reviews.

I like it a lot. The new g7 I mean. Really, the choice is do u need wireless or can u live with a cord? If u can live with a cord, I don't find a big difference compared with my 518. However, if u want wireless and fps gaming...g7 is the only wireless mouse u want.

I don't like that it has only one side button (back, but no forward). But u get used to having the extra buttons by having the wheel tilt...so I made wheel tilt forward for the forward button. Not a big deal...just need a little getting used to...like a day or two.

Just a few thoughts about this G7 mouse:
The wireless works great - no complaints. However, battery life is very short and you have to switch the rechargeable battery often - every 2 days???

My biggest compaint is the plastic where your thumb presses against. It get s very slick unless you wipe the oils off frequently. If you don't, it will cause you to be less accurate when trying to move or aim! My old mx510 was WAY better since it had a rubbery surface under thumb (I'm seriously thinking about glueing some tacky material to the G7 or selling it!). Logitech. you need to do more product testing! Also, don't change something just for the sake of change! Rubber contact points is soo much better than plastic!
The other big compaint is: the wheel is terrible cuz it is noisy and not smooth like my mx510!!! How could that design flaw happen these days? The G7's wheel is clunky and anoying to use. I don't use the tilt function either cuz it's too tricky to use. I miss the 2 thumb buttons for web browsing (back and forward buttons) and gaming.

Bottom line is, I can't recommend the G7 due to the disappoining design flaws and mediocre wheel action! I'd rather use my old mx510 to be honest...but I juse spent $60 just to get the wireless The slick plastic feels VERY uncomfortable and you can't afford the slightest inaccuracy in movement playing FPS games! So if you are a big gamer, I'd try it out first...Hope this helps - I wish I read a review like this BEFORE I bought it...

I had the G7 and i concur with previous poster. Battery life sucks and the slick sides of the mouse are bad, esp if your hands sweat a lot during gaming. I returned it and got the G5 which has "grippy" sides instead.

Been very happy with it and the cord is freaking long!

You couldn't be more wrong about the mouse wheel. It is absolutely perfect. Gamers need tactile feedback when cycling through weapons or other selctions with the wheel. "Smooth-scrolling" wheels should be exterminated. FUNCTION is more important than anything else. How can you take something like tactile feedback and think of it as a negative point? Smooth-scrolling wheels would be OK if they used made use of high DPI scrolling. Instead, they use incremental 3-line jumps like any other scroll wheel.

I only just got mine, but I know why the battery life is so poor. The mouse must stay reponsive and not idle/wake up like a traditional wireless mouse. Logitech reports the 12-hour battery life when the mouse is in "gaming mode." This hints that there is a way to toggle modes. I have only just recieved mine a couple of days ago and haven't read any documentation yet.

I just got mine and I love it. I didn't even installed the software for it. Just plugged it in, let Windows detect it and I was done.

the mouse is great, the texture is different than the mx510 and 518 with is more plush and soft, the g7 is plastic and smoother. the tracking and sensitivity is great. batterylife is poor lasting 2 days with minimal gaming and probably 24 hours with a lot of fps gaming. recharger is great tho

I use two mice. A MS wireless explorer 2.0 for general tasks, and a G7 for gaming. I love the smooth scrolling on the MS. I have it set for 1 line, with acceleration, and its just incredible to use. I do agree that it sucks for FPS gaming though, which is why I have two mice. (That and I cant deal with the MS wireless lag)

I have it and love it. Best wireless mouse I have ever owned. The short battery life is annoying, but it only takes seconds to swap it, so its only a minor issue.

I have an MX1000, and I'd much rather have short battery life, but 2 swappable batteries than actually having to put it on the base and go do something else for 5 minutes.

Just switched from the MX1000 to G7. Love everything about the G7 compared to the MX1000 except for the battery life. However the extra battery with the G7 make up for the difference.
