Is dishing out $72 on this mouse really worth it. I really like wireless mice that have great placement for your fingers. I'm pretty sure my wireless is going to die in like, at least 4 months, because i hear most have a short life span. So I am just wondering if I should include this mouse in my new build. If you have any other suggestions that are equal to this mouse, and cheaper, it would be much appreciated.

I think it is better than other wireless mice for gaming because of the high 2000 DPI and it also never sleeps. There's a huge price to pay for this as you will need to change the battery on a daily basis. There are also some major issues with the mouse, most notably the "double click" problem. After awhile your single mouse clicks will sometimes double click (e.g. you click to select a folder but it opens it instead).

Google "Logitech G7 double click" and you'll see plenty of complaints about it. Mine developed this problem recently and I am replacing it with the G5 which is the corded version.

I've had my G7 for a year and half, and haven't had this double click problem yet.

Personally, I think it's a great mouse and highly recommend it for gaming. Though I also use a MX1000 for non-gaming.

I LOVE the G7. My only wish is that they would release a G7 .v2 with 2 thumb buttons. Basically I want the MX1000 in the G7 Shell.

Darn right. They finally got a wireless mouse with a great form factor AND light weight (most are bricks) and they cripple it with ONE thumb button!? What a shame.

Bought a G7 for games like CS and what not but use my MX510 for windows and all other non FPS like games. Now playing WOW where the forward and back buttons help alot, also the shiny finish on the G7 doesn't 'work' if you have sweaty palms/fingers. If you must have cordless get the one with the rubberized grip and fake carbon fibre top. TBH if I just had to have one mouse for all applications, the new G5 would work alot better for me overall. (Tech and ergonomics)

I've had my G7 for about a year now and outside of the battery life getting progressively shorter I was also very happy with it. Also I do wish that the mouse had a second thumb button like my MX 700 used to have. I have no idea why Logitech would remove that from the design. Overall I do think it was worth the $80 I spent on mine and would recommend it.

MX Revolution is not a gaming mouse, it isn't even usable for CAD or design work. Stick with the G7 or other high DPI mice.

yeah, I have the mx revo right now, not that great for gaming. Any game window you're playing in, and accidentaly press the side scroll wheel thing, minimizes everything. If I could take that wheel out, this would be the perfect mouse so my hand would sit flat, not arched like it is now.

I LOVE my G7, it's the best mouse ever, i'm mean, i've never had one that feels this good (I have the model with only 1/2 smooth plastic), or that has this high dpi, or that has 2 batteries that come with it, that last 5+ hours and charge in 2, or that is just awesome in every way.

lol :D

That's because it's not a gaming mouse... it was designed for mass productivity, spreadsheets, lists, slides, etc. That's like buying an Accord and saying it doesn't have the ground clearence for 4x4ing. It wasn't designed for such things.

I picked up several extra mouse skates for my g7 becuase I want it to last for a long time. Never had a problem with it, love it. I wish they were going to replace it with another wireless not a wired g9.

got my g7 over a year ago from amazon or buy.com for $25AR, no problems with it till this day. stupid 1 day battery life. and it spikes when my network adapter is at work (wireless interference).

i'd go with the G5! you will NOT be disappointed and they are completely worth the money

The G7 was a really nice wireless mouse... too bad they stopped making it. The G5 works well as a replacement, but the wireless is nice for home theater and MPC stuff.

I have both the MX518 and the G7 but I prefer using the 518 for the fact the battery barely lasts at all, thing is dead after a day and thats after not even using it half of the day. Does anyone have that problem with battery life too? I really wanted to use a wireless mouse but if it only lasts that long then what's the use.
