Logitech G7 vs Logitech Mx1000

Sorry if this has been covered before, but i'm about to go purchase a mouse and decided between the G7 and Mx1000. Im gonna be using it for alot of gaming as well as everyday use. Which one of these would be best for that??

You should really only get a G7 if you need the cordless. The G5 is superior to the G7 due to the cord. Besides that, the Gx laser is an improved version of the MX1000, so it should be the logical pick, performance-wise.

The G7 only has one thumb button and I have heard people complain about that, however the G7 has the switchable cartridges and selectable sensitivity. So it depends on which of these things would be more important to you.

I have both, and although I liked the MX1000 more because it was bigger, the G7 is a better mouse all around. I say go for the G7.

i also have both the mx1000 and g7. based on my personal usage, i would pick the G7 over the MX1000.

The only thing that I don't like abou tthe G7 is the short battery life. Got the change the battery just about every day. The MX1000, I would go over a week b4 need to recharge the battery

I have both as well ($17 G7 after rebate that went through was too hard to pass up) and I ended up staying with the MX1000 because the extra thumb buttons and rubberized sides were too difficult to give up. G7 has overall better tracking and a lower profile (and newer version of it has textured grips as well) but it wasn't enough of an advantage to not have access to additional thumb buttons.

My suggestion is to go to a store and hold both mice in your hand and then decide yourself on which one to get.

I like the MX 1000, the recharge station and feel are very good reasons in my mind to consider it a good buy.

Used both, ended up keeping the MX1000. The G7's thumb rest wasn't scooped out enough for my liking and it was hard keeping a good, light grip on it as a result. The battery had to be changed everyday as well even for normal mousing (I don't do computer gaming), which got annoying really quick. The G7 definitely tracks better but it's a little less usable for me.

Have both and use both. G7 for gaming and MX1000 for everything else. If you plan to play online FPS, then I'd recommend the G7.

the MX1000 is not a good RTS gamer mouse...

the best mice to play starcraft with, personally are the Microsoft standard mice, not the enhanced stuff, but like the Microsoft Optical Blue, extraordinary RTS precision in the control of every movement of desire

Never used the MX1000 much, but the G7 is fine for regular use and superb for gaming.

the mx1000 isn't supposed to be for gaming, the g5 ang g7 are. I'd get the mx1000 if I wasn't gaming, it only costs $40, and the tracking power is pretty much equal to the g5 and g7, it just has a lot of studdering during gaming.
