Logitech G7 mousepad - cheapo

I recently got one of the new carbon fiber g7 mice. I recall reading something about the G5 having problems tracking on certain surfaces and then logitech released a firmware that was supposed to help out. I am not interested in getting a really fancy mousepad, but I was wondering what color tends to allow the best tracking for a g7 - black???
 
Material matters more than the color I think. I had a carbon fiber G7 and it skipped pretty badly on my black Everglide Large Attack pad on higher sensitivities. It worked pretty well on a 3M mousing surface. OTOH my MX1000 doesn't seem to like the 3M pad at all, and is better on the Everglide.
 
Ok, the fUnc sUrface 1030 and the G7 work great together. I thought the rough side would be bad to use it with, as someone on newegg said, but it worked great.
