Logitech G602 - Should I Buy It?

Hello,

Both my Razer DA (Dragon Age II Ed) and Razer Mamba have developed the 'click problem' and has been annoying me for the last few weeks. I was searching for a mouse online and had pretty much nailed it on the simple and clean looking Logitech G400s but then stumbled upon the Logitech G602 and instantly liked it. Although it is much more expensive than the G400s, it looks incredible to me and the best part is it has plenty of programmable side-keys and also is wireless. Having used the Razer Mamba before I really do happen to like the wireless design on it.

So, is anyone here using/ used the G602? Would like to hear some user reviews and feedback. Online user reviews seem pretty solid to me and I'm planning to buy it but thought of asking here first before ending up getting it.

Regards,
Sam25

If you were happy with the mamba you likely won't notice the sensor issues on the G602 either. I certainly wouldn't buy it but then I care more about how well the mouse tracks my inputs than the number of buttons it has.

Thank-you for replying BrightCandle. You mention you wouldn't buy it... may I ask why? Will I be better off getting the G400s instead since I've read that movement reading wise it's good.

I had used the Mamba a few years back and was happy with it while gaming. Same goes with the Razer DA. I usually play FPS and titles. If it's a TPS (or any other genre) I'm playing I mainly rely on my X360 controller.

Because it doesn't have a flawless sensor. The sensor fails to track your actions properly. Most of these logitech mice have inherent acceleration that you can't remove and angle snapping that straightens out the lines you make, both of which are very bad for FPS gamers. I don't worry myself with the individual details of what fault it is each individual model of mouse has, there are too many mice with too many bad sensors to be worrying about the individual problems with any one particular model. Most mice are flawed so its just easier to track the ones that are good.

I understand. So, going by that which would be a better investment among the two, the G400s or the G602? I'm in India and the prices are as follows:

Logitech G400s: $33
Logitech G602: $72

I have ruled out mice from Razer as I'm done with the clicking problems that develop with their products.

G400s is good, Razer deathadder 3.5G also good, both are decent palm gripper mice. The logitech will most likely fail with a double click issue on its mouse buttons, that is just due to the switches they use when they wear out that is how it manifests. G502 might be really good, I haven't yet seen enough solid reviews by pro players to determine if its flawless, I have seen 2 positive reviews of the right type and so far nothing too negative although it is pretty heavy.

I don't think that is a fair statement.

Out of the 20+ Logitech mice I've owned, two had click issues. The original G5, and the G700. Both times, Logitech sent me brand new replacements, without me having to send back the bad mice. In the case of the G5, it was out of warranty, but I tried them anyway, and they replaced it.

I've only owned two Razer mice, and both had click issues. It was a freaking nightmare to get my Mamba 2012 replaced.

All mice can have click issues; Logitech isn't any worse than any other company, and they are FAR better with their customer service.

Unfortunately the G502 is not available in India. Think I'll just settle with the GS400s then. It seems to have a good sensor and an all round solid performer inspite of it's simple and neat look. Not to mention it's costs half the price of the G602! As far as the buttons go the 2 on the side is all I need TBH.

Hope I am taking the correct decision in getting the G400s over the G602!

can i ask who the heck you talked to?!?!?

both times when both of my g700's failed they asked me to send in my mouse first.
Both times i asked for advance replacements where i would put a deposit on my CC they told me, NO ADVANCE RMA.
Both were not even 1 yr old, and still under warranty... i bought the second one to hold me over while the first one was getting replaced, and guess what, BOTH failed.
I even told CS that this is my 2nd time on a different mouse, and she just apologized, telling me i had to send in my mouse first.

Cuz of those 2/2 times that stupid mouse button failed, i have officially gave up on Logitech mouse and moved over to razor.
Your right in all buttons fail, but for the G700 series, however the fail rate on logitech is just beyond stupid for that series.
Look on there support forums and u'll see the TON's of people complaining about how bad that button is.

I just pray the 502/602 is not using the same button as the 700 series... then i may go back.
But it will take a while for me to trust a logitech mouse again.

And i am not bashing logitech out of hatred, i have and use a G19 + G13, which i both love to death.
Im even on my third g13 as i love that gamepad over all the others.

Keyboards i will go with logitech... mouse... errr... i'll do "The Rock" stare if someone asks me to buy a logitech mouse.

I'll be ordering the G400s later today! Once it does reach me, will surely post my thoughts about it.

Nice! I talked to one of my colleagues about the G400s and she said she uses one at home and liked the feel of it. She doesn't game with it but she recommended it to me, so I guess you're about to get a quality mouse :)

Waiting on your first impressions when you get it :p

This is not the way to buy a mouse!

There are objective measures for accurate a sensor of a mouse is, the paint test for example shows clearly any problems with the basic movements. An acceleration test in game will show up any problems there and failure speed can be determined as well. These are not subjective elements of a mouses qualities, they can be scientifically tested accurately.

The shape and size of a mouse is the subjective bit, this is dependent on your hand and how you grip the mouse. No one else can tell you how that will fit, we can class mice based on size and shape to likely be good for claw/palm/fingertip grippers but beyond that its all you.

I just called the regular customer service number. My 700 had issues a month after buying it (when it first came out), so maybe Logitech changed their practices once so many people started hammering them about that mouse.

I would also imagine Logitech would have fixed whatever issue/hardware caused all that. They certainly don't want to have to replace tons of mice. But, finding out exactly if the 502/602 uses the same hardware as the 700 is something I'll do when I'm looking for my next mouse.

I hope you have good luck with Razer. I certainly haven't. I get phantom clicks (nothing happens), sticky-clicks (repeats), the software takes 2+ minutes to load and 20 seconds to bind a single button, and sometimes switches DPI by itself. My Blackwidow Ultimate keyboard was the same way... finally shelved it after a frustrating night of trying to rebind about 15 keys that took forever.

Wow, I had a blackwidow keyboard like that too. Keys would stick like it's life depended on it. Just threw it out of frustration.
