Logitech g51 speakers?

Anyone have experience with these for a PC? http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Surro.../dp/B000UEH5HC

The main thing I'm concerned with is that there's no optical/coaxial input based on the back: http://www.gamershell.com/misc/logitech_g51_speakers/screenshots.html?id=296038

Are there any other comparable 5.1 systems in a similar price range with coaxial/optical inputs?

I'm considering moving up a level to the Z-5500 as well: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-THX-Certified-Digital-Surround-Speaker/dp/B0002WPSBC

depends on what you want to use them for. For gaming they're decent. The problem with basically all of Logitech's speakers is that they're extremely boomy, so they sound pretty muddy for music and movies.

dude i got my z-5500 on craigslist for $160 a couple years back. at the time i also saw the z-680 on craigslist for $125. seriously check craigslist. these speakers are a pretty badass setup, all things considered. they don't sound extremely good, in the grand scheme of things, but for gaming and general tv/movie watching they sound great in my bedroom. they certainly leave some things to be desired in regards to music, however, but considering the price, the connectivity, and the surround sound, it's a good deal. the only other thing i would really consider, and in fact i was considering this lately, is picking up a good pair of stereo speakers (possibly [probably] used) and amplifier (definitely used). but for what they are, the z-5500 fit the bill quite nicely.

Yeah for sure I'll go on CL..music is probably a slightly higher priority for me..any recommendations for a system that's more focused on music?

yeah dude buy a real receiver and a real pair of stereo speakers. you should be able to find something cheap on craigslist that would sound better than the z-5500, just make sure you know what you're getting. if your computer has s/pdif out, make sure you get a receiver with s/pdif in. still should be great for tv and movies, but you may want to add a sub at some point so consider this when buying a receiver. the only real negative here is that there isn't surround sound, so if that's important to you then consider it also when looking at receivers. but you may be perfectly satisfied with 2 channel stereo; i think stereo is great and a pair of speakers with a good soundstage set up properly sound great, imo.
